3-star OT Leyton Nelson Talks Top 5

On the 24th, Class of 2022 3-star OT Leyton Nelson named his Top 5 schools, the teams included were Duke, UCF, Miami, Florida, & Utah. He originally planned to make his commitment on July 4th but has since delayed his decision. Nelson plays for Boone High School in Orlando, FL was recently named the 2021 Offensive Line MVP of the Underclassmen Report Orlando.

Here are some things he likes about each school about each school:

Miami- "Development as a player, facilities, academics, & team leadership"

UCF- "Coaches, players, vision and the effort, development, NIL"

Florida- "Coaches, team, facilities, academics, area surrounding the school, & development as a player and person"

Utah- "Coaches, area, facilities, respect, team effort, & leadership"

Duke- "Academics, coaches, development, players, & vision"

He took official visits to Miami, UCF & Utah and tells me they went well, Nelson also visited Louisville & Pitt officially but they did not make the cut. As for Duke and Florida, he visited them unofficially along with a bunch of others including FSU, Auburn, Marshall, Ole Miss, & Mississippi State. Nelson says he is unsure if he will plan more visits before his decision, but states that its likely he could.

Nelson has built great relationships with the coaches at each school in his Top 5 and that played a big role on why they made the cut, however he has also built solid relationships with Coach Borbely (Pitt) & Coach Bicknell (Louisville).

He says each school is pushing hard for his commitment but, at the same time are giving him time to make his decision as well. Some things Nelson is looking for in a school are academics, relationships with coaches, a good football program, and a place he can call home.

Nelson is an underrated player with tremendous talent and will be a great player anywhere he goes, I can't wait to find out where he will end up once he makes his decision.
