2023 4-star S Peyton Bowen Discusses Recruitment

 



Peyton Bowen is one of the top-rated players in the Class of 2023, he is a 4-star Safety and ranked 120th nationally and 19th in the state of Texas. Bowen attends Guyer HS in Denton, Texas and is a big impact player, he plays physical and can cover a lot of ground. 

I asked Peyton if any of his offers stuck out more than others, and he told me that he keeps in contact with all the teams that have offered him but, Notre Dame, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas, TCU, and LSU stand out to him. 

He also told me that he would always enjoy watching Tyrann Mathieu and Ed Reed play, and how they are two players he tries to play like. When I asked Bowen who his biggest inspirations are for both football and life, he said "I'd say Michael Jordan as just being an amazing athlete in general, he always gave it his all every day no matter if he was sick or hurt, which as a football player makes me want to have the same mentality as him. For life I would say my father because he's someone that had to work for everything in life from the beginning".

Academics are a minor focus in his recruitment as wants to get to the school that fits him best but would also like to continue his learning at a good educational school. As for his goals and how he is working hard to achieve them, Bowen has been working out multiple days a week and does speed workouts twice a week on top of practice. He wants to get 80+ tackles and 4+ interceptions this upcoming season, as well as win a state title.

Peyton says "It feels amazing" to be getting recognized by schools with all the work he's put in, and "It's truly blessing and an honor because you know you didn't just work your whole life for nothing". He is a ball hawk and wherever the ball is, he is going to be there, he can also hit and cover someone when needed. Bowen also says he's a vocal leader and if he sees something wrong he will help try and fix it. 

He tells me that he plans to take unofficial visits this summer, so far he plans to visit Ole Miss and Notre Dame. Bowen is a great player and I expect him to get more offers his high school career continues.

2022 OT Jake Maikkula Discusses Top Schools

On the 31st, Class of 2022 3-star OT Jake Maikkula trimmed his list of schools from 27 to his Top 8. The schools that made the cut were Kansas State, Missouri, Minnesota, Cal, Virginia, Duke, Colorado, and Nebraska. Jake plays at Valor Christian High School in Littleton, CO and is rated as one of the top players in the state of Colorado. Here are some things that stood out to him about each school on his top list: Missouri- "Incredible facilities and the ability to play in the SEC. 3-star OT Leyton Nelson Talks Top 5

    On the 24th, Class of 2022 3-star OT Leyton Nelson named his Top 5 schools, the teams included were Duke, UCF, Miami, Florida, & Utah. He originally planned to make his commitment on July 4th but has since delayed his decision. Nelson plays for Boone High School in Orlando, FL was recently named the 2021 Offensive Line MVP of the Underclassmen Report Orlando.
