4-star Chace Biddle Talks Commitment

 


SMU landed their highest rated recruit in the programs history (via 247Sports) when 4-star S Chace Biddle committed to the Mustangs in July. He chose SMU over Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Oklahoma, TCU, Texas A&M, and others. Chace held 24 offers and is ranked the #109 prospect in the 2022 class, as well as the #8 safety. 

When I asked when he knew he was ready to commit, he said “The day I knew I was ready it was a hard decision from all the way up til and it feels good to say I’m committed”. He tells me some things that stood out about SMU was the family atmosphere they have there, and how coaches thought about players’ life after football as well as football right now.

Chace describes his relationship with coaches as “All laughter and games, but when it comes to business it gets serious”. He says the visit to SMU was great. He enjoyed the staff, indoor field house, & their weight rooms, saying they are amazing facilities. 

Biddle plays very aggressively and confidently and tries to model his game after Jamal Adams. The coaches told him he will be more of a strong safety, staying back in coverage, but will also be involved in blitz packages. He feels the team and competition can help him become the best version of himself and that there is competition everywhere.

Chace is a very talented player who was being recruited by multiple powerhouses, but ended up staying home and choosing SMU. I think he has potential to be one of their best players in program history and this Mustang team should be very talented in a couple of years.

2022 OT Jake Maikkula Discusses Top Schools

On the 31st, Class of 2022 3-star OT Jake Maikkula trimmed his list of schools from 27 to his Top 8. The schools that made the cut were Kansas State, Missouri, Minnesota, Cal, Virginia, Duke, Colorado, and Nebraska. Jake plays at Valor Christian High School in Littleton, CO and is rated as one of the top players in the state of Colorado. Here are some things that stood out to him about each school on his top list: Missouri- "Incredible facilities and the ability to play in the SEC. 3-star OT Leyton Nelson Talks Top 5

    On the 24th, Class of 2022 3-star OT Leyton Nelson named his Top 5 schools, the teams included were Duke, UCF, Miami, Florida, & Utah. He originally planned to make his commitment on July 4th but has since delayed his decision. Nelson plays for Boone High School in Orlando, FL was recently named the 2021 Offensive Line MVP of the Underclassmen Report Orlando.
